Wine: 2010 Aloxe-Corton "Les Vercots" 1er
Producer: Domaine Tollot-Beaut
Comment: A ripe essence of plum, violets and earth suffused nose gives way to impressively scaled, concentrated and powerful big-bodied flavors that possess seemingly buckets of extract that buffers the firm and robust tannic spine and imparts a velvety texture to the intense, austere and driving finish. A classic Vercots that won't win any prizes for refinement but will for sheer complexity.
